Pune Fine Arts Teacher Found Dead, Suicide Suspected

A fine arts teacher employed at a private school in Pune was discovered dead in her Keshavnagar flat on Saturday night. Preliminary investigations indicate that she died by suicide.

Police Recover Suicide Note

Senior Inspector Smita Wasnik of Mundhwa police station informed TOI, "We recovered a note from the flat, purportedly written by the deceased, which stated, ‘I am unable to live an ideal life.’" The teacher lived alone in the apartment.

According to the police, she had lost her father during her childhood, and her mother passed away from cancer approximately two years ago. "She was a talented painter and a dedicated fine arts teacher," Wasnik added.

Friend Raises Alarm

The incident came to light when a friend arrived at the teacher’s home on Saturday night to pick her up for a scheduled dinner. When repeated knocks and phone calls went unanswered, the friend grew concerned and alerted the neighbours and housing society members.

"The housing society informed the police, and our team reached the spot. Upon entering the flat, we found her hanging from the ceiling fan," said inspector Wasnik.

Depression Suspected

Police suspect the teacher had been battling depression since her mother’s death. An investigation into the matter is ongoing. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further details are awaited.
