The appointments committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Binod Kumar Patro, professor of community medicine at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, to the post of director at the National Institute of Health & Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi, on a deputation basis.
Appointment Details
According to a government notification, Patro will hold the position for a period of five years, effective from the date he assumes charge. The tenure may end earlier if he attains the age of 60 years, or if further orders are issued, whichever occurs first.

Binod Kumar Patro is a professor specializing in community medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar.
