A tragic incident of food poisoning has been reported from Jharkhand's Giridih district, where a seven-year-old child died and 18 others were hospitalized after consuming golgappa and chaat from a street vendor. The event occurred in Leda Bajto village under the Mufassil police station limits on Sunday, according to police.
Details of the Incident
The victims had eaten the snacks sold by a local cart vendor on Saturday evening. Later that night, they began experiencing symptoms of food poisoning. By Sunday morning, over 20 people, including women and children, were rushed to Sadar hospital for treatment. Sadar sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Jeetwahan Oraon confirmed that a seven-year-old child succumbed to the poisoning, while 18 others are undergoing treatment.
Medical Confirmation
The civil surgeon has confirmed that the patients are suffering from food poisoning. The condition of the hospitalized individuals is reported to be stable. Authorities are closely monitoring their health.
Police Investigation
