Under the new policy, all government and aided schools in Delhi will be equipped with improved menstrual hygiene management facilities. This includes the installation of sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators, as well as the provision of free pads to students. The government will also conduct regular awareness sessions to educate girls about menstrual health and hygiene.

CM Rekha Gupta emphasized that the initiative is part of the government's commitment to empowering girl students and ensuring their dignity. The Delhi Education Department will oversee the implementation of the program, with a dedicated team monitoring the facilities in each school. The government has allocated a budget of INR 10 crore for the first phase, which will cover 500 schools. The remaining schools will be covered in subsequent phases.
