Family of four dies due to suspected food poisoning in Mumbai

A family of four, including a husband, wife, and their two daughters, died on Sunday due to suspected food poisoning, police confirmed on Monday. The deceased were identified as Abdullla Abdul Kadar (40), his wife Nasreen (35), and their daughters Aayesha (16) and Zainab (13).

Incident Details

According to police sources, on April 25, the family had dinner at 10:30 pm with five other relatives, who later returned to their homes. Between 1:00 am and 1:30 am, all four deceased consumed watermelon. Shortly after, they fell ill and were initially treated by a family doctor before being referred to JJ Hospital.

Timeline of Deaths

The younger daughter, Zainab, died at 10:15 am on Sunday, while Abdullla Kadar succumbed at 10:30 pm the same night. The other two family members also passed away during this period.

Investigation Underway

Post-mortem examinations have been conducted, and the final cause of death is pending histopathology reports. An accidental death case has been registered at the JJ Marg police station, and investigations are ongoing.

Kadar ran a mobile accessories shop in the area. The tragic incident has left the community in shock.
