A fire incident at Aveksha Hospital in north Bengaluru led to the swift evacuation of 15 patients in the early hours of Wednesday. The blaze originated in the electric shaft located in the basement of the four-storey building on MS Palya Road in Singapura.

Timely Response Prevents Casualties

Around 2:30 am, hospital staff noticed thick smoke spreading to the upper floors and quickly realized there was a fire in the building. Approximately 30 staff members, including an electrician, were on duty at the time. They immediately began shifting patients to safety, even as some patients panicked and rushed out of their rooms.

Staff alerted fire and emergency services while some team members, along with the electrician, went to the basement to attempt to control the flames. Their prompt action ensured that all 15 patients were relocated without any injuries.
