Chandigarh: The Haryana government has intensified preparations for the NEET re-examination scheduled on June 21, with chief secretary Anurag Rastogi directing district administrations and law enforcement agencies to ensure its fair and secure conduct across the state.
Chairing a high-level review meeting via video conference, Rastogi assessed district readiness with deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, police commissioners and other senior officials. National Testing Agency director general Abhishek Singh also participated in the meeting.
Rastogi instructed officials to implement foolproof security arrangements at every examination centre and ensure there is no scope for irregularities. He emphasized the need for timely inspections of centres to verify the availability of essential facilities, including electricity, drinking water, sanitation services and medical support.
Rastogi also directed district administrations to work in close coordination with the police, education, health and transport departments to facilitate the seamless conduct of the examination. Adequate measures should be taken to maintain law and order, regulate traffic and prevent inconvenience to candidates, he said. Highlighting the importance of preserving the credibility of a high-stakes examination like NEET, the chief secretary called for vigilance and accountability from all officials involved. Detailed discussions were also held on surveillance systems, security protocols and interdepartmental coordination. District authorities were asked to establish help desks and disseminate timely information regarding examination schedules, reporting times and guidelines for candidates.
