Indore: In a major anti-adulteration operation on Saturday, the divisional food flying squad raided several spice manufacturing units along Khandwa Road and seized a total of 3,396 kg of spices valued at Rs 8.98 lakh. The special drive was part of ongoing efforts to curb food adulteration in the region.
Details of the Raid
During the operation, food safety officers collected nine samples from three different facilities for laboratory testing. At Rathore Traders, four samples of chilli and coriander products were taken. From Saurabh Spices Private Limited, three samples of turmeric, chilli, and mustard dal were collected. At HK Food, the squad gathered two samples and confiscated 998 kg of suspected chilli powder along with 2,398 kg of noodles masala.
Legal Action Pending
All collected samples have been sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory for detailed analysis. Based on the test results, appropriate legal action will be initiated against the erring manufacturers. The drive underscores the authorities' commitment to ensuring food safety and quality for consumers.
