The Kanpur district will organize special health camps for labourers on the occasion of International Labour Day from April 30 to May 2. According to Assistant Labour Commissioner Ram Lakhan Patel, health check-ups will be conducted for construction workers, factory workers, domestic workers, and migrant labourers across eight industrial units, and necessary medicines will be distributed free of cost.
Camp Schedule and Locations
This campaign will be conducted in coordination with the health department and the labour department. According to the scheduled program, camps will be organized on April 30 at Plastic Pack Limited (Panki Site-1), Navratri Foods (Sachendi), Parth Agrochem, and Sparkic LLP (Bhawanipur Mandhana). On May 1, camps will be held at AFS Plus (India) Pvt. Ltd. (Panki Site-1), Neyveli UP Power Ltd. (Ghatampur), and Katyayani International (Ruma). On May 2, workers will be screened at the Defence Corridor (South).
Health Services and Awareness
The assistant labour commissioner stated that a health team will be stationed at every site to provide necessary consultation and medication, in addition to general health check-ups. Special attention will be given to workers who do not have access to regular healthcare services. Additionally, awareness regarding health, safety, and hygiene will be promoted at workplaces. The officials have been directed to ensure that all camps are conducted on schedule and that the maximum number of workers benefit from them.
