In response to the severe heat conditions, the district administration of Kanpur has announced revised school timings for all government and private institutions, from primary to Class XII, irrespective of their board affiliation. The new directive, issued on Thursday, mandates that schools will now operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM to protect students from the intense midday heat.
Official Directive and Compliance
District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh confirmed that the decision aligns with the guidelines provided by the Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority. He emphasized that specific timings have also been fixed for 81 identified schools to ensure smooth traffic management during dispersal hours.

In an official statement, the DM directed all relevant authorities to strictly adhere to the revised schedule. The measure aims to safeguard students' health and well-being during the extreme weather conditions.
