Mohali Health Dept Steps Up After Mild Diarrhoea Cases

The Mohali health department has intensified field surveillance and preventive operations in parts of Dhakoli after detecting a few mild cases of diarrhoea. Acting on orders from deputy commissioner Komal Mittal, block rapid response teams launched door-to-door health checks, distributed medical supplies, and gathered water samples to halt any potential spread of water-borne diseases.

Officials confirmed that the situation remains fully under control, noting that the few reported infections are exceptionally mild and have required zero hospitalisations. The targeted medical sweep primarily focused on two local residential pockets: Dashmesh Enclave and Krishna Enclave.

Dashmesh Enclave Survey

In Dashmesh Enclave, workers surveyed 120 households and identified three mild diarrhoea cases. The team distributed 50 ORS packets and 250 chlorine tablets to local families while collecting four water samples for laboratory testing.

Krishna Enclave Survey

In neighbouring Krishna Enclave, the survey covered 90 households with zero infections reported; there, officials handed out 50 ORS packets, 200 chlorine tablets, and collected three water samples.

Health Education Efforts

Aside from distributing supplies, health workers educated both neighbourhoods on proper handwashing, safe food handling, sanitation, and the use of water-purifying tablets.

The DC stated that the district administration and health department are keeping the situation under close watch through regular field visits. Urging public cooperation, Mittal appealed to residents to immediately report symptoms of diarrhoea or any other water-borne illness to the nearest health facility.
