Hyderabad: The Telangana United Medical and Health Employees Union has issued a stern warning to the state government, demanding immediate redressal of long-pending issues in the medical and health sector. At its state general body meeting held in Hyderabad, the union cautioned that employees across various cadres would launch agitations if the demands remain unresolved.
Key Demands Presented
In a unanimous resolution, the union pressed for enhanced budgetary allocations to strengthen public healthcare and ensure quality treatment for all. Key demands included filling vacant posts permanently to ease staff workload, regularising contract and outsourcing employees, and clearing pending salaries, bills, and allowances.
Financial Arrears and Pay Revision
The union also sought payment of 15 months’ arrears to 104 employees, implementation of the second Pay Revision Commission with 51% fitment from July 1, 2023, and release of six pending dearness allowances. Leaders urged the government to respond positively without delay, warning that failure to act would trigger intensified joint struggles across the health workforce.
Union's Warning
The union emphasized that if the government does not address these issues promptly, employees will be forced to resort to agitations. The meeting concluded with a call for unity and determination to achieve their goals.
