VP Radhakrishnan: Meditation Key to Viksit Bharat, 30,000 Gather at Hyderabad Event
VP: Meditation Essential for India's Spiritual & Economic Progress

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan has underscored the critical role of inner transformation and meditation in India's journey to become a developed nation, or Viksit Bharat. He articulated this vision while addressing a massive gathering at Kanha Shanti Vanam in Hyderabad on Sunday during the Heartfulness-led World Meditation Day celebrations.

A Collective Call for Peace and Progress

The event, themed 'One World, One Heart', witnessed a powerful convergence of participants seeking inner peace. Over 30,000 people attended in person at the Hyderabad venue, while the message of harmony resonated globally with nearly one million individuals joining the session virtually from across the world. The collective meditation was guided by Daaji, the spiritual guide of Heartfulness and president of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission.

Vice President Radhakrishnan emphasized that the nation's progress must be holistic. He stated that meditation is indispensable for India's collective advancement, not merely in economic terms but also on a spiritual plane. He explained that this inner practice helps transcend societal divisions and fosters a deeper harmony between people and the natural world.

Heartfulness Movement Gains Official Recognition

In his address, the Vice President lauded the Heartfulness movement for its widespread efforts in promoting conscious living and peace. He cited a practical example of its impact, noting its adoption by police personnel in Madhya Pradesh. Practitioners within the force have reported significant benefits, including improved mental clarity and better emotional balance, demonstrating meditation's tangible value in high-stress professions.

Telangana's Governor, Jishnu Dev Varma, who also participated in the event, rooted the practice in India's ancient wisdom. He described meditation as a vital bridge that leads individuals from a state of agitation to clarity and from division to a sense of universal oneness. "Meditation brings clarity, helps discover our inner being and it guides the inner journey from untruth to truth, darkness to light, mortality to immortality," Governor Varma remarked.

Building a Nation from the Inside Out

The high-level participation from the Vice President and the Governor underscores a growing recognition of wellness and spiritual well-being as foundational elements for national development. The event in Hyderabad served as a potent symbol of how individual inner peace is intrinsically linked to broader societal health and progress.

The resounding message from the leadership was clear: the path to a truly developed and resilient India (Viksit Bharat) is paved not just with material infrastructure but with the cultivated inner strength, focus, and compassion of its citizens. The massive turnout, both physically and online, reflects a rising public alignment with this vision of comprehensive growth.
