In a remarkable display of unity and a quest for inner peace, more than 30,000 young Indians from every corner of the nation came together for a collective meditation experience led by spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to mark National Youth Day 2026.
A Nationwide Wave of Silence and Self-Discovery
The event, organized under the banner 'India Youth Meditates with Gurudev', saw participation from youth in over 600 cities, including students from premier institutions like the IIMs, IITs, IISc Bengaluru, AIIMS, BHU, Jamia Millia Islamia, and ICAI. This week-long initiative was designed as an antidote to the rising stress and mental health challenges faced by the younger generation, offering a space for silence, self-discovery, and deeper happiness.
Participants engaged in a rich tapestry of activities that went beyond simple meditation. The program featured advanced meditation sessions, extended hours of mindful silence, soulful chanting and music, interactive wisdom talks, and joyful cultural celebrations. For many attendees, this was their first profound experience of inner quiet in an era perpetually buzzing with digital noise and distractions.
