Artistic Expressions: Silent Conversations and Appearing Exhibitions

Bengaluru's art scene welcomes a significant transformation as Artisera gallery in Indiranagar presents Laxman Aelay's solo exhibition "Silent Conversations" from November 29 to January 10. The artist, known for his vibrant colors and folk-inspired figurative works rooted in rural Telangana culture, demonstrates a remarkable shift in his artistic practice. For the first time, Aelay explores the spontaneity of black ink drawings, moving away from his characteristic colorful palette.

The comprehensive exhibition features six distinct series: Eight Myths, Murmured Narratives, Sixty@60, Remembering Souza, Domesticated Animalia, and Inked Reflections. Visitors can experience not only drawings but also paintings and sculptures during gallery hours from 11 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday.

Group Exhibition Explores Spatial Relationships

Meanwhile, in Pune, Vida Heydari Contemporary in Koregaon Park hosts the group exhibition "Appearing" from November 29 to January 10. The show brings together works by artists Arieno Kera, Monali Meher, Katayoun Karami, and Sejal Parekh, examining how individuals enter, occupy, and resist the spaces they inhabit.

Curated by Yash Vikram, who divides his time between New Delhi and Varanasi, the presentation investigates how space "shapes our bodies, dictates movement, and is continually negotiated through presence, memory and quiet defiance." The gallery remains open from 10 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Saturday.
