On Saturday, the Muslim community in Hubballi celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with immense religious enthusiasm and devotion across the city. The festivities were marked by large gatherings for special prayers, emphasizing themes of peace, love, and brotherhood.

Mass Namaz at Idgah Maidan Despite Space Constraints

Despite limited space at the Eidgah Maidan near Channamma Circle, devotees peacefully accommodated themselves by sitting on nearby roads to participate in the mass namaz. A significant number of worshippers gathered at this location to offer their Eid prayers, fervently praying for peace and prosperity in the nation.

Prominent Leaders and Community Engagement

The event saw the presence of notable community leaders, including former minister AM Hindasgeri, who serves as the president of Anjuman-E-Islam in Hubballi. Other attendees included Yusuf Savanur, Altaf Halwoor, and Ashpaq Kumtakar. Hindasgeri actively interacted with community members, exchanging Eid greetings and discussing various social and developmental initiatives aimed at benefiting the city.

Festive Atmosphere Across Hubballi

Celebrations were also held at the Idgah Maidan in Old Hubballi, adding to the city's vibrant festive ambiance. Key areas such as Ganesh Pet, Old Hubballi, Station Road, and Karwar Road, which have a relatively high Muslim population, were adorned with a celebratory look. The festivities prominently highlighted values of peace, love, and brotherhood.

Inclusive Celebrations with Non-Muslim Participation

In a heartwarming display of communal harmony, many non-Muslim individuals accepted invitations from their Muslim neighbors and visited their homes. They partook in traditional Eid delicacies like sheerkurma and other dishes, fostering a spirit of unity and shared joy.

Traffic Management and Interfaith Exchanges

To ensure smooth traffic flow during the prayer times, local police implemented measures such as diverting or temporarily halting vehicles. In a notable interfaith gesture, a group of Muslim youths, led by Ashpaq Kumtakar, visited the Moorusavir Math. There, they exchanged greetings with Gangadhar Rajayogindra Mahaswamiji of the mutt, further strengthening community bonds.

Presence of Dignitaries and Cultural Figures

The occasion was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including NWKRTC former chairman Sadanand Danganavar and writer Channabasappa Dharwad Shettar, among others. Their participation underscored the broad community support for the Eid celebrations and the shared commitment to social cohesion.
