Star-Studded Lineup Promises Dynamic Dialogue

A remarkable roster of speakers will grace the festival. Stephen Fry, Sudha Murty, and Tim Berners-Lee lead the list. They join Esther Duflo, Javed Akhtar, Vir Das, and Vishwanathan Anand. Leo Varadkar, Alice Oswald, and Shikhar Dhawan will also participate. This assembly ensures a vibrant celebration of ideas and conversation.

Sanjoy K Roy, managing director of Teamwork Arts, shared the program details. He explained the festival will explore diverse themes. Production, hospitality, logistics, and technical operations all see a boost. Around sixty regional businesses partner with the event. These include food vendors, craft artisans, décor specialists, and merchandise sellers.

The economic footprint exceeds Rs 100 crore annually. Restaurants, cafés, hotels, and transport services experience peak demand during the festival week. This influx provides a major stimulus to the local economy.

Boosting Rajasthan Tourism with Repeat Visitors

JLF has emerged as a powerful brand ambassador for Rajasthan tourism. Apurv Kumar, venue partner and MD of Clarks Group of Hotels, provided insights. He noted Rajasthan typically sees less than two percent repeat tourists. However, the festival accounts for nearly thirty percent of repeat participants. This statistic underscores the event's drawing power and lasting appeal.

Honoring Literary Excellence with Prestigious Award

A key highlight of the 2026 edition will be the Mahakavi Kanhaiyalal Sethia Award for Poetry. Yatinder Mishra will receive this honor. It recognizes his outstanding contribution to Hindi and Rajasthani poetry. The award commemorates the iconic poet and social reformer Kanhaiyalal Sethia. The presentation includes a jury citation and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

Jaipur BookMark Focuses on Marathi and AI

Running parallel to the main festival, Jaipur BookMark will convene industry professionals. This year's focus includes the Marathi language and translation works. Emerging storytelling innovations will be discussed. The evolving role of artificial intelligence in publishing will also be a central topic.
