Lions International Announces Major Community Projects in Mangaluru
In a significant boost to community development and cultural preservation, Lions International District 317D Region 2 has unveiled two major initiatives in Mangaluru. The organization will dedicate a new entrance arch to the historic Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple from the Kadri Park side. Simultaneously, it will provide specialized kids' play equipment for the Madhava Vana Campus of Seva Bharathi in Montepadavu.
Details of the Projects
Lions Region Chairperson Charan Alva announced these plans during a press conference held on Friday. He emphasized that these projects reflect the region's commitment to service and cultural enrichment. The new temple entrance arch is set to be inaugurated on March 1 by Kadri temple administrative trustee A J Shetty. This arch, located near the Circuit House, aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal and accessibility of the revered temple.
Regarding the play equipment donation, Alva stated, "Our contribution supports Seva Bharathi's incredible work in providing care and education for disabled children." The specialized equipment is designed to cater to the needs of children at the Madhava Vana Campus, promoting inclusive play and development.
Celebrating Achievements with 'Grantha' Regional Meet
To commemorate these collective triumphs and the region's outstanding performance in membership, service, cultural activities, and sports, Lions International District 317D Region 2 will organize a regional meet titled 'Grantha'. This event is scheduled to take place at Scouts Bhavana in Pilikula on March 1.
Alva highlighted that Region 2 has set new benchmarks in various domains, making this meet a celebration of their successes. "We are proud to undertake the construction of a majestic entrance arch for the historic Kadri temple," he added, underscoring the cultural significance of the project.
The initiatives demonstrate Lions Club's ongoing dedication to fostering community welfare, supporting educational institutions, and preserving cultural heritage in the Mangaluru region.
