Lucknow Church Choir Brings Christmas Cheer to TOI Office with Carols & Santa
Lucknow Church Choir Spreads Christmas Joy at TOI Office

The festive spirit of Christmas arrived early at The Times of India's Lucknow office this week, thanks to a vibrant visit from a local church choir. On Monday, the premises on Meerabai Marg were filled with the sound of classic carols and joyful laughter, marking a special pre-Christmas celebration.

Choir Brings Melodies and Festive Attire

A nine-member group from the Assembly of Believers Church in Chowk transformed the office atmosphere. Dressed in traditional Christmas colors, wearing Santa caps and red and green cloaks, the choir performed beloved hymns. They sang popular carols such as ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Hark the Herald’, effectively setting a cheerful and festive mood. The performance was so engaging that members of the TOI staff were seen humming and singing along with the group.

A New Experience and Heartwarming Gestures

For choir member Kezia, the visit was a novel experience. She expressed her delight, stating it was her first time ever visiting a newspaper office. The celebration reached a heartwarming peak with the arrival of Santa Claus. Entering with a deep, jolly laugh of ‘ho ho ho’, Santa shook hands with everyone and distributed sweets, including toffees, chocolates, and candies, much to the delight of all present.

The True Spirit of Christmas Emphasized

Priest in-charge Parag Weasley shared the deeper message behind the visit. He highlighted that the essence of Christmas teaches valuable lessons about sharing, giving, and showing concern for others. This gesture by the church group was a practical embodiment of that spirit, aiming to spread happiness and communal joy beyond the walls of their church and into the community, including corporate spaces.

The event successfully bridged the gap between a community institution and a media house, showcasing how the universal message of Christmas can foster togetherness and cheer in everyday settings.
