Patna Gears Up for Grand Ram Navami Celebrations at Mahavir Mandir

In anticipation of the significant influx of devotees, the gates of Patna's revered Mahavir Mandir will open exceptionally early at 2 AM on Wednesday, March 27, for the Ram Navami festivities. The day will commence with a sacred 15-minute aarti, followed immediately by the commencement of prasad offerings and darshan for devotees, which will continue uninterrupted until the night aarti ceremony.

Administrative Review and Strategic Planning

A comprehensive review meeting was conducted on Tuesday at the Mahavir Mandir premises, presided over by Patna District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma. The session focused on finalizing all administrative and logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure celebration. Key officials in attendance included the SP Traffic, SDO Patna Sadar, ADM Law and Order, along with representatives from the Mahavir Sthan Nyas Samiti and various puja committees.

Enhanced Religious and Logistical Facilities

To elevate the spiritual experience, priests specially invited from Ayodhya will conduct the religious ceremonies. The temple management, in collaboration with the district administration, has planned several innovative facilities:

  • LED Screens: Multiple large screens will be installed outside the temple premises for live viewing of rituals, allowing devotees in crowded areas to participate fully.
  • Prasad Distribution: A total of 15 dedicated Naivedyam laddu counters will be set up to distribute a targeted 24,000 kilograms of prasad to devotees.
  • Queue Management: Separate queues for male and female devotees will be established, extending from Veer Kunwar Singh Park to the temple entrance, utilizing iron and bamboo barricades for organization.

Comprehensive Security and Crowd Control Measures

Security protocols will be activated starting March 26, with a multi-layered approach involving magistrates, police officers, and 100 private security personnel. To prevent congestion, vending activities will be strictly prohibited near entry points, parking zones, and drop gates. All activities within and around the temple will be continuously monitored through an extensive network of CCTV cameras and videography.

Traffic Management and Public Convenience

Traffic management will be coordinated by the SP Traffic to address potential disruptions, particularly those caused by ongoing metro construction near Patna Junction. The final traffic plan will be disseminated through various media outlets to inform the public. Additionally, the district administration has arranged several public convenience facilities:

  1. Medical Support: Medical camps, stationary ambulances, and a temporary control room will be operational throughout the event.
  2. Sanitation and Lighting: The Patna Municipal Corporation will ensure round-the-clock cleanliness and adequate street lighting in the area.
  3. Basic Amenities: Provisions include clean drinking water via tankers and ATMs, mobile toilets, and shaded canopies for devotees waiting in queues.

Information and Emergency Services

Devotees seeking information or assistance can contact the district control room or utilize emergency services. Help desks will be strategically placed to provide guidance and support throughout the celebrations.

The meticulous planning underscores the administration's commitment to facilitating a peaceful and devotional Ram Navami celebration, blending traditional rituals with modern administrative efficiency to accommodate the expected large crowds.
