RSS Centenary Play 'Sangh Ganga Ke Teen Bhagirath' Staged in Lucknow
RSS Centenary Play Highlights Founding Chiefs in Lucknow

A special theatrical production, staged in Lucknow, brought to life the legacy of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) founding leaders. The play, titled 'Sangh Ganga Ke Teen Bhagirath', was performed at Kala Mandapam on Monday, forming a key part of the organization's ongoing centenary celebrations.

Celebrating a Century of RSS

The event was organized by the Tararani Foundation and Radhika Creation to mark 100 years of the RSS. The chief guest for the occasion was Swant Ranjan, the All-India pracharak pramukh of the RSS. The play served as a tribute to the foundational figures who shaped the Sangh's journey over the past century.

The Play and Its Portrayal

Written by Shridhar Gadge and directed by Sanjay Pendse, the performance featured music by Bhagyashri Phadnis. It artistically portrayed the lives and contributions of the first three Sarsanghchalaks (chiefs) of the RSS. The narrative began with Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founding chief, showcasing his revolutionary spirit from a young age.

The play depicted a young, 10-year-old Keshav expressing his ambition to his teacher to replace the British Union Jack flag with the kesariya (saffron) flag—a foreshadowing of his future role in establishing the RSS. As Hedgewar aged, the play highlighted his succession planning, where he chose Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar as his heir. Golwalkar's tenure was shown as a period of strengthening the organization. Following him, the play portrayed the leadership of Madhukar Dattatraya Deoras, who took over the mantle.

A Message of Collective Spirit

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Swant Ranjan praised the artists' performances and reflected on the Sangh's enduring philosophy. He emphasized that the RSS is not individual-centric but is built on a spirit of collective effort. "Sangh is not individualistic. It inspires people to work together for the nation and society. That is why it has completed 100 years and will go further," he stated, underscoring the core principle of selfless service that has sustained the organization.

The successful staging of 'Sangh Ganga Ke Teen Bhagirath' in Lucknow provided a cultural and reflective dimension to the RSS centenary festivities, reminding the audience of the personal sacrifices and visionary leadership that have defined the organization's century-long path.
