In a significant push to enhance tourism infrastructure and industrial growth, the Gaya district administration is set to receive the finalized blueprints for the proposed Mahabodhi and Vishnupad corridors by January 10. District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar announced this timeline, highlighting a multi-pronged strategy for the district's development in the new year.
Focus on Tourism and Pilgrimage Facilities
The development of the Mahabodhi and Vishnupad corridors is a cornerstone of the plan to improve facilities for the millions of devotees and tourists visiting the sacred twin cities of Gaya and Bodh Gaya. Shubhankar revealed that recommendations for modifications to the Vishnupad corridor plan have been incorporated, and the amended blueprint for both projects is expected shortly.
"Apart from Gaya and Bodh Gaya, other sites like the Gehlaur valley will also be developed from a tourism point of view," the DM added, indicating a broader vision to tap into the region's full tourism potential.
Single-Window System for Industrial Growth
Parallel to tourism, industrial expansion is a key priority. The administration is actively working on establishing a single-window clearance system to streamline approvals for entrepreneurs. This system aims to provide on-the-spot sanctions for crucial requirements like pollution no-objection certificates, various licences, and power and water connections.
This move is timed with the rapid development of the Amritsar-Delhi-Kolkata industrial corridor on a vast 1,670-acre plot at Dobhi. To ensure security for businesses, a permanent police station will be established at the industrial site.
Transparent Public Grievance Redressal
Addressing public administration, Shashank Shubhankar outlined a robust mechanism for grievance redressal. A comprehensive database of all complaints and their compliance status is being prepared. To ensure genuine resolution, the administration will randomly select complainants to verify the on-ground status of their issues.
"Compliance reports will be delivered to the complainant at his or her home or on their mobile number. The complainant will also be part of the team of officials concerned so that he or she is satisfied with the compliance of the order," he explained.
Furthermore, specialized Janata Darbars will be held twice monthly for specific groups. The first, on January 13, will address problems faced by teachers (excluding transfer-posting issues), followed by a session on January 27 for district, subdivision, and block-level staff.
Ensuring Implementation
To guarantee that development works are executed properly, district-level senior officers will conduct thorough inspections of at least two block offices every month. These inspections will be directly supervised by the District Magistrate himself, underscoring the administration's commitment to on-ground results.
With these coordinated efforts in tourism, industry, and public service, the Gaya district administration aims to kickstart a transformative year for the region, benefiting pilgrims, tourists, entrepreneurs, and residents alike.
