Guwahati: Assam will benefit from the visit of the Japanese Prime Minister for a high-level summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in many ways, said BJP’s state president Dilip Saikia on Wednesday.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is expected to visit Guwahati for a high-level summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi next month.
While talking to the media here, Saikia said, “Visit of heads of such developed nations to the state always brings many hopes and possibilities. We are excited to welcome the Prime Minister of Japan as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma is putting all efforts for the successful visit of the PMs.”
He further added that India shared a good friendship with Japan. He added that besides Assam, other northeastern states will also benefit from the scheduled visit.
Meanwhile, Guwahati is undergoing extensive beautification work, with various departments joining hands to spruce up major roads, flyovers and public places ahead of the high-profile summit.
