First Haj Flight from Uttar Pradesh Departs Lucknow with 427 Pilgrims
The inaugural flight carrying Haj pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh successfully departed from Lucknow on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in the annual pilgrimage preparations. Operated by Flynas Airlines, the aircraft took off precisely at 2:20 PM, transporting a total of 427 pilgrims directly to Saudi Arabia for the sacred Haj journey.
Demographic Breakdown and Regional Representation
Of the total passengers onboard, the flight carried 222 male pilgrims and 205 female pilgrims, ensuring balanced participation. The largest regional contingent comprised 278 pilgrims from Kanpur Nagar district, demonstrating strong representation from this area. Following closely were 59 pilgrims from Lucknow itself, along with two pilgrims originating from Assam who joined this historic flight.
Official Support and Guidance for Pilgrims
To provide comprehensive assistance and guidance throughout the journey, three experienced state Haj inspectors accompanied this first batch:
- Mohammad Rizwan
- Ghulam Hussain of Kanpur Nagar
- Aamir Suhail of Rae Bareli
These officials will ensure pilgrims receive proper support during their spiritual journey.
Farewell Ceremony and Government Preparations
A special farewell program was organized at the Maulana Ali Miyan Memorial Haj House prior to departure. The event was chaired by Danish Azad Ansari, Minister of State for Minority Welfare and Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee.
Earlier, Minister Ansari conducted a thorough inspection of arrangements at the Haj House, directing officials to prioritize several key areas:
- Pilgrim convenience and comfort
- Maintenance of cleanliness standards
- Quality of food provisions
- Adequate accommodation facilities
- Efficient parking arrangements
The Uttar Pradesh government has confirmed that comprehensive preparations are fully in place to ensure all Haj pilgrims experience a safe, smooth, and dignified pilgrimage. These measures reflect the state's commitment to facilitating this important religious journey for its citizens.
