MCTE Hosts Grand Air Show to Commemorate 116th Raising Day of Corps of Signals
The Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow celebrated the 116th Raising Day of the Corps of Signals with a magnificent air show on Saturday morning. The event attracted a large and enthusiastic audience comprising service personnel and their families, who gathered to witness the spectacular displays.
Commandant Leads Celebrations as Chief Guest
Lt Gen Praveen Bakhshi, the Commandant of MCTE, served as the chief guest for the occasion, overseeing the festivities that highlighted the valor and heritage of the Corps of Signals.
Aerial Displays and Skydiving Thrill Spectators
The celebrations featured an impressive aerial display by microlight aircraft and gliders, which performed coordinated formations against the backdrop of clear skies. More than seven microlights and gliders participated, flying at low altitudes while carrying symbols of national pride, including the National Flag, the MCTE flag, a 'Vande Mataram' banner, and the flag of the Corps of Signals. This visual spectacle was followed by an exhilarating skydiving demonstration from an altitude of 8,000 feet, adding to the excitement of the day.
Special Moments for Young Attendees
In a heartwarming gesture that delighted young spectators, microlights released small parachutes carrying chocolates. Children eagerly ran across the grounds to collect the treats as they floated gently to the ground, drawing loud cheers from the assembled crowd.
Precision Parachute Jump Highlights Event
Lt Col Mayank Nagpal executed a precision parachute jump from 8,000 feet, landing to an enthusiastic reception from children and other attendees, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
