NRI TDP Saudi Arabia Team Hosts Ramadan Iftar for 1,000 Distressed Indian Workers
In a remarkable display of compassion during the holy month of Ramadan, the NRI TDP Saudi Arabia team organized a large-scale Iftar service on Friday evening in Riyadh. The event provided food to nearly 1,000 Indian workers residing in a labor camp who have been enduring severe hardships after not receiving their salaries for over a year due to ongoing legal issues involving their company.
Humanitarian Initiative Led by NRI TDP Leaders
The humanitarian effort was spearheaded by NRI TDP KSA leaders Jani Basha Shaik and Rajasekhar Chennupati, with dedicated support from the NRI TDP Riyadh team. The initiative was conducted under the guidance of NRI TDP Gulf Council President Radhakrishna Ravi and NRI TDP KSA President Khalid Saifulla.
Speaking at the event, Khalid Saifulla emphasized that the initiative reflects the spirit of service and compassion that defines Ramadan. "Ramadan is a time of sharing, empathy, and service to humanity," he stated. "When we learned about the difficulties faced by these workers, we felt it was our responsibility to stand by them and extend whatever support we could. Our team will continue to support distressed Indian workers in Saudi Arabia whenever such situations arise."
Commitment to Community Service
Radhakrishna Ravi highlighted the NRI TDP network's commitment to humanitarian causes and community service in the Gulf region. "Many migrant workers silently endure hardships while working abroad," he noted. "During Ramadan, it is our moral duty to reach out to them with compassion and solidarity. This Iftar service is a small effort to bring relief and hope to those going through difficult times."
The Iftar service brought much-needed relief and encouragement to the affected workers, many of whom have been living under challenging conditions for months. Participants expressed deep appreciation for the timely support and gratitude to the organizers for extending care and compassion during Ramadan, reinforcing the spirit of unity and service.
