President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on an official and ceremonial tour of Himachal Pradesh, spanning from April 27 to May 2. The itinerary includes key locations across the state, notably Shimla, Palampur, and Manali, where she will participate in a series of significant events.
Strategic Inspection of Atal Tunnel Scheduled for April 29
A highlight of the visit will be the President's inspection of the strategically vital Atal Tunnel on April 29. This crucial infrastructure project connects Manali to the Lahaul and Spiti Valley, enhancing connectivity and security in the region. The inspection underscores the national importance of this tunnel, which serves as a lifeline for remote areas and has strategic military significance.
Convocation Ceremony in Palampur as Chief Guest
On April 30, President Murmu will attend the convocation ceremony of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in Palampur, located in the Kangra district. As the chief guest, she will award degrees and medals to meritorious students, recognizing academic excellence and encouraging future contributions to agriculture and related fields. During her stay, the President is also scheduled to visit the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla.
