VILLUPURAM: PMK founder S Ramadoss has strongly condemned the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the residence of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, describing it as a grave threat to democracy. In a statement released on Tuesday, Ramadoss alleged that the central agency was being used for political vendetta.
No Evidence Found in Raid
Ramadoss pointed out that reports indicated the ED investigation did not uncover any incriminating documents or evidence during the search. He said, "This information further strengthens the suspicion that the action was politically motivated from the very beginning. In a democratic system, central investigative agencies must function independently and impartially. However, using such agencies to target political opponents with the intention of damaging their reputation and political influence is deeply concerning."
Vijayan's Reputation Under Attack
The PMK founder emphasized that Pinarayi Vijayan has been actively engaged in public life for many years and is widely respected as a leader known for simplicity, integrity, and a governance focused on public welfare. "The ED raid, conducted without any substantial evidence against him, is being viewed by the public as an expression of political vendetta," Ramadoss added.
He urged that central investigative agencies must operate without bias and warned that such actions undermine the faith of the people in democratic institutions. Ramadoss called for an impartial inquiry into the matter to restore public confidence.
