White House Names Board of Peace Members for Trump's Gaza Ceasefire Plan
Trump's Gaza Ceasefire Plan: Board of Peace Members Revealed

The White House has officially announced the members of the newly formed Board of Peace. This board will oversee the second phase of President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict. The announcement came on Friday, local time, detailing the key individuals tasked with implementing this ambitious strategy.

Executive Board Members Revealed

According to the White House statement, the founding Executive Board comprises leaders with extensive experience in diplomacy, development, infrastructure, and economic strategy. The named members include several high-profile figures.

US State Secretary Marco Rubio and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair are among the notable appointments. Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner also feature on the list. Other members are Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, Marc Rowan, CEO of Apollo Global Management, and Robert Gabriel, US Deputy National Security Adviser.

President Trump himself will serve as the Chairman of the Board of Peace. He has additionally appointed Aryeh Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum as senior advisors to support the board's operations.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Board

The White House clarified the board's mandate. Executive Board members will oversee specific portfolios critical to Gaza's stabilisation and long-term success. Their responsibilities include governance capacity-building, regional relations, reconstruction efforts, investment attraction, large-scale funding, and capital mobilisation.

Aryeh Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum have been charged with leading day-to-day strategy and operations. They will translate the board's mandate and diplomatic priorities into disciplined execution on the ground.

On-the-Ground Leadership and Security Measures

Nickolay Mladenov, an Executive Board member, will serve as the High Representative for Gaza. He will act as the crucial link between the Board of Peace and the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG). The NCAG represents a vital step forward in implementing Phase Two of Trump's comprehensive plan.

The NCAG will be led by Ali Sha'ath, a widely respected technocratic leader. Sha'ath will oversee the restoration of core public services, the rebuilding of civil institutions, and the stabilisation of daily life in Gaza. His role is foundational for establishing long-term, self-sustaining governance in the region.

To ensure security and preserve peace, Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed Commander of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF). He will lead security operations, support comprehensive demilitarisation, and enable the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and reconstruction materials.

Gaza Executive Board Appointments

The announcement also named members of the Gaza Executive Board. Tony Blair, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff were appointed to this board as well. They are joined by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al Thawadi, and other key international figures.

This development follows closely on the heels of Steve Witkoff's recent announcement regarding the launch of the second phase of the US-brokered plan. The plan aims to end Israel's ongoing war on Gaza and establish a framework for lasting peace and prosperity in the region.
