Wardha to Get Duronto Express Halt on Nagpur-Mumbai Route
The Ministry of Railways has granted approval for Wardha to be included as a station on the journey route of the Duronto Express operating between Nagpur and Mumbai. This significant decision, made on an experimental basis, addresses long-standing demands from various passenger organizations seeking improved connectivity for the region.
Experimental Stoppage Approved by Railway Board
The Railway Board has officially sanctioned a halt for the 12289/12290 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj-Nagpur Duronto Express at Wardha. According to the approval, this stoppage will be implemented from an "early convenient date", marking a pivotal step in enhancing rail services in Vidarbha.
Wardha, recognized as a key junction in the Vidarbha region, is poised to benefit substantially from this development. The addition of the Duronto Express halt is expected to provide residents and travelers with improved access to the premium Mumbai-Nagpur service, offering a faster and more efficient travel option compared to existing trains.

In addition to the Duronto Express, the Railway Board has approved several other train stoppages, including:
- Lokmanya Tilak-Balharshah Express at Shegaon
- Yesvantpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Express at Uruli near Pune
- Yesvantpur-Chandigarh Express at Uruli near Pune
- Pune-Nagpur Express at Uruli near Pune
These approvals collectively aim to enhance rail network efficiency and passenger convenience across multiple routes, reflecting ongoing efforts to optimize India's railway infrastructure.
