Mysuru Rooftop Restaurant Owners Booked for Fire Tragedy

Mysuru: Rooftop restaurant owners Preetham Puneeth and Keshavamurthy have been booked by Mysuru City police on charges of causing death by negligence and endangering life or personal safety in connection with the fire tragedy that claimed two lives and left seven injured.

Complaint and Legal Action

Based on a complaint by Channaram of Bengaluru, the owners have been booked by Kuvempu Nagar police. Police said on Tuesday they have not made any arrests in the case. Commissioner of police Seema Latkar confirmed that the owners have been booked under various provisions of BNS, and investigation is under way.

Victims' Condition

Meanwhile, the condition of injured customers and employees who are being treated at private hospitals is stable.

Fire Department's Findings

“Monday’s incident was preventable, but due to negligence, the fire tragedy happened. The restaurant was completely decorated with combustible materials, and hence the fire spread to the entire area within no time,” fire and emergency services officers stated.
