Mass Voter Deletions Across Four States

During the ongoing electoral roll revision, 6.12% of voter names have been deleted across four Indian states: Odisha, Manipur, Mizoram, and Sikkim. According to official data, over 22.55 lakh names were removed from the rolls, primarily due to death, permanent migration, or duplicate enrolment.

State-wise Deletion Rates

Sikkim recorded the highest deletion rate at 8%, while Mizoram had the lowest at 5.2%. Among the states, Odisha saw the largest absolute number of deletions, with 10.07 lakh names removed due to permanent migration, 8.32 lakh due to death, and 1.58 lakh due to duplicate entries.

Ongoing Enumeration and Final Roll Publication

The enumeration phase continues in 12 states and union territories, with Nagaland and Tripura scheduled to begin later in August and September. The final electoral rolls will be published on September 6, after a one-month period for claims and objections.
