Bihar Exit Polls 2025: NDA Set for Victory, Tejashwi Yadav Top CM Choice
Bihar Exit Polls: NDA Wins, Tejashwi Top CM Pick

NDA Poised for Comfortable Majority in Bihar

At least nine different exit polls have projected a clear victory for the National Democratic Alliance in the fiercely contested Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, which were conducted in two phases this month. The ruling coalition is expected to comfortably cross the majority mark of 122 seats in the 243-member legislative assembly.

According to comprehensive data from People's Pulse and other polling agencies, the NDA is projected to secure between 133 and 167 seats, ensuring a stable government formation. The opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal, is predicted to win between 73 and 102 seats, while Prashant Kishor's debutant Jan Suraaj Party might manage up to five seats.

Tejashwi Yadav Emerges as Most Popular CM Face

In a surprising development that has captured political attention, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has emerged as the most preferred choice for chief minister despite his alliance trailing in seat projections. The People's Pulse survey revealed that 32% of respondents preferred Tejashwi Yadav as the state's chief executive.

Current Chief Minister and JDU supremo Nitish Kumar, who has held the position for nearly two decades, was a close second with 30% preference. This comes amid ongoing reports about Kumar's declining health affecting his public appearances during the campaign.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan of the LJP (Ram Vilas) and political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor each received 8% support as chief ministerial candidates. BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary secured 6%, while Bihar Congress president Rajesh Kumar managed only 2% in the preference poll.

Political Implications and What Comes Next

The exit poll results, released on Tuesday, indicate that the NDA alliance comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal-United is likely to return to power. However, the unexpected popularity of Tejashwi Yadav as an individual leader suggests shifting political dynamics in the state.

Political analysts note that while the NDA appears set to form the government, the significant support for the opposition leader could influence future political strategies. The actual election results, which will provide the definitive outcome, are scheduled to be declared on 14 November.

It is crucial to remember that exit polls have frequently proven inaccurate in past elections, and these projections should be viewed as indicative rather than conclusive. The final tally may present surprises when votes are officially counted.
