In a significant push to boost voter enrollment, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders spearheaded a public outreach campaign in Lucknow on Saturday. This drive comes after the Election Commission of India extended the deadline for submitting voter verification forms to December 11.
Door-to-Door Campaign in Rani Laxmi Bai Ward
The focused initiative was conducted in the Rani Laxmi Bai Ward of Kesarbagh. A team of high-profile leaders, including State BJP president Bhupendra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, and city president Anand Dwivedi, personally interacted with residents. They went from household to household, urging citizens to complete and submit the necessary forms for the ongoing voter list revision process.
The leaders emphasized the critical importance of timely submission to ensure every eligible voter is registered. The drive was not just about adding new names but also about creating a clean and accurate electoral database.
Strategic Meetings to Bolster the Effort
To coordinate this large-scale effort, a strategic meeting was held at the BJP Kesarbagh office. This gathering included local MLAs, party officials, campaign coordinators, and mandal presidents. Following this, a virtual meeting was conducted with councillors to ensure the message reached every corner of the constituency. BJP functionary Neeraj Singh was also present during these meetings.
Leaders Stress Transparency and Inclusivity
Speaking on the campaign's objectives, State BJP President Bhupendra Singh stated that the party is undertaking extensive public outreach. The goal is twofold: to ensure all eligible voters complete the formalities and to help prepare an error-free electoral roll within the stipulated period.
Echoing this sentiment, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak clarified that the aim is to assist in creating a fair and transparent voter list. He highlighted that the efforts are also directed towards the removal of ineligible entries and the inclusion of all eligible citizens. This comprehensive approach seeks to strengthen the democratic foundation of the constituency.
With the revised deadline of December 11 now in place, such initiatives are crucial for maximizing voter participation and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process in Uttar Pradesh's capital.
