Buxar District Awaits Election Results for Four Key Constituencies
The political fate of 52 candidates competing across four assembly constituencies in Buxar district will be determined today as vote counting begins under stringent security protocols. The electoral process, which has captured the attention of voters across the region, will unfold at the Bazar Samiti premises starting precisely at 8 am.
Three-Tier Security and Comprehensive Surveillance
District authorities have implemented a three-tier security system to ensure the counting process remains transparent and secure. The entire counting premises, both interior and exterior sections, will remain under continuous CCTV surveillance throughout the operation.
District Election Officer and District Magistrate Bidyanand Singh has directed that counting must commence exactly at the scheduled time under the supervision of general observers, returning officers, and assistant returning officers. "Every stage of counting will be monitored through CCTV to ensure transparency and accuracy," Singh emphasized during final preparations.
Systematic Counting Process Across Four Halls
The district election department has completed all arrangements for swift and error-free declaration of results. Counting personnel, supervisors, and micro-observers have been appointed and received comprehensive training for their respective roles.
The counting procedure will initiate with postal ballots and online votes, for which dedicated tables and trained technical staff have been deployed in each of the four counting halls. Following this initial phase, the counting of votes recorded on electronic voting machines (EVMs) will begin at 8:30 am across 14 tables, with each table manned by one counting supervisor and two assistants.
All four constituencies will undergo simultaneous EVM counting, though results are expected to be declared at different intervals based on the number of polling stations and voters in each constituency.
Constituency-wise Breakdown and Expected Timelines
Buxar Assembly Constituency is projected to announce its result first, having the smallest number of polling stations at 346 with 1,87,179 registered voters. Approximately 25 rounds of counting are anticipated before the final outcome emerges.
Dumraon Constituency, which had 382 polling stations serving 1,95,248 voters, will likely declare results next after about 28 rounds of EVM counting.
Brahmpur Constituency follows with 2,04,737 voters who cast their ballots across 418 polling stations. This constituency recorded the lowest voter turnout among the four seats at 59.76% and will require nearly 30 rounds of counting.
Rajpur Assembly Constituency is expected to be the last to declare results, having the highest number of voters at 2,10,468 and the most polling stations at 421. Sources indicate approximately 31 rounds of counting will be conducted before the final declaration.
Final Preparations and Security Review
On Thursday, DM Bidyanand Singh conducted a joint briefing with all designated magistrates to finalize arrangements. The crucial meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya, Deputy Development Commissioner Akash Choudhary, additional collector (Buxar), and the returning officers of all four constituencies.
Singh issued detailed instructions regarding counting procedures, security coordination, and communication systems, directing all magistrates to remain fully alert at counting halls, strong rooms, and periphery areas.
SP Arya thoroughly reviewed the security setup, emphasizing strict access control, effective crowd management, and active CCTV monitoring within the counting premises. Meanwhile, the DDC and additional collector inspected preparations related to logistics, power backup, barricading, transport, and help desks, with returning officers providing updates on their respective arrangements.
The stage is now set for a transparent and efficient counting process that will determine the political representation for these four crucial assembly segments in Buxar district.
