CHENNAI: Clashes broke out between DMK and BJP workers at St Francis Xavier Middle School polling station in Alwarpet on Thursday morning. The incident occurred when BJP's Tamilisai Soundarajan visited the polling station around 10:30 am.

Allegations of Fake Voting

Tamilisai and her team alleged that DMK had cast fake votes. The situation remained volatile for half an hour despite police efforts to calm both sides. The protests continued outside on the streets, stalling traffic and creating a tense atmosphere as followers engaged in verbal altercations.

BJP Representative's Statement

"DMK's goondas are behind the fake votes and are behind the fighting here," said Sai Ganesh, a representative of BJP's IT cell who accompanied Tamilisai.
