The final electoral roll for the North East Teachers Constituency in Kalaburagi district was officially made public on Tuesday. The district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Voter Registrar B Fauzia Tarannum, announced that a total of 8,936 educators have successfully registered to vote in the upcoming elections.
Breakdown of Voter Registration Figures
The final count reveals that 4,818 male teachers and 4,118 female teachers are now on the electoral list. This represents a significant increase from the draft list published earlier on November 25, which had recorded only 7,884 voters (4,300 men and 3,584 women). The period of continuous registration saw a robust response, with 518 men and 534 women adding their names to the rolls, culminating in the final tally.
Accessibility and Polling Infrastructure
The complete voter list has been displayed for public scrutiny at several key government offices across the district. Citizens and educators can view it at the Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner's office, the Kalaburagi City Corporation, the offices of the Assistant Commissioners of Kalaburagi and Sedam, and all Tahsildar offices.
In preparation for the election, the administration has established 41 polling stations throughout the district. This allocation adheres to the Election Commission of India's guidelines, which mandate that a polling booth should be within a 16-kilometer radius and serve a minimum of 30 voters.
Qualifying Date and Ongoing Registration Process
As per the directives of the Election Commission of India, November 1, 2025, has been set as the qualifying date for this electoral roll. Deputy Commissioner Tarannum clarified a crucial point for potential voters: although the list is final, the window for registration remains open under specific conditions.
"The list will be revised during the election if more voters register," she stated. Eligible teachers can still submit applications to be included in the voter list until the last date fixed for the submission of nomination papers, once the election is formally declared.
Teachers who are eligible but not yet registered must apply with the necessary documents to any of the designated offices: the Tahsildar, Assistant Commissioner, Kalaburagi Municipal Corporation, or the Deputy Commissioner's office. DC B Fauzia Tarannum has issued a direct appeal, requesting all eligible voters in the teachers' constituency to complete their registration promptly to ensure their right to participate in the democratic process.
