Kanpur's Electoral Revision Hits 45% Completion with Tech Boost
Kanpur Electoral Revision: 45% Work Complete

In a significant push to streamline the electoral revision process, district officials in Kanpur conducted a comprehensive inspection of the SIR War Room and Facilitation Centre on Friday. The inspection took place at a newly developed auditorium in Sarsaiya Ghat as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision campaign.

Modern Facilities Accelerate Revision Process

District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh, who led the inspection team, revealed that the newly established auditorium boasts state-of-the-art facilities designed to expedite the revision workflow. The facility is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, online monitoring systems, and real-time data update capabilities, all working in tandem to ensure efficient processing of electoral information.

According to official updates, approximately 45% of the district's revision work has been successfully completed. The assembly constituencies of Bithoor and Kidwai Nagar have emerged as frontrunners, demonstrating notably faster progress compared to other areas in the district.

December 4 Deadline Looms for Voters

DM Singh issued a crucial appeal to all eligible voters, emphasizing the importance of completing and returning enumeration forms distributed by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) promptly. The absolute deadline for form submission is December 4, with only six days remaining from the inspection date.

The district magistrate specifically stressed the necessity of providing accurate information in these forms, warning that online matching and verification processes would follow to ensure the draft electoral list scheduled for release on December 9 remains error-free.

For voters experiencing difficulties in completing their forms, officials have established a simplified procedure. Electors can simply sign the form and hand it over to their respective BLO, who will then complete the necessary entries on their behalf.

Recognition for High Performers

The inspection also served as an occasion to acknowledge exceptional performance by field staff. DM Singh announced that BLOs at approximately 10 polling booths had achieved 100% completion ahead of schedule, with many receiving formal recognition for their outstanding work.

To further facilitate the collection process, the administration has established two to four facilitation centres in each of the district's 10 assembly constituencies. These centres are operating on a war footing, collecting forms daily and ensuring continuous data updates to maintain the revision momentum.
