Kharge Accuses PM Modi of Causing 90-Minute Rally Delay in Bihar
Kharge: PM Modi caused 90-minute rally delay in Bihar

Congress President's Rally Faces Major Delay

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge made serious allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, holding him responsible for a significant delay in the commencement of his election rally in Bihar's Chenari assembly segment. The political gathering, which was originally scheduled to begin earlier in the day, eventually started nearly two hours behind schedule, according to PTI reports.

Security Protocol or Political Interference?

Kharge claimed that security officials at the airport instructed him to wait until the Prime Minister's aircraft had taken off, forcing him to remain confined inside his helicopter for approximately 90 minutes. The Congress leader expressed his frustration directly to the media, stating he would have reached the venue on time if not for this security directive.

"I would have reached in time, but security officials at the airport told me I must wait till Narendra Modi's aircraft takes off. So I had to keep waiting inside my helicopter for about an hour and a half," Kharge revealed, as quoted by the news agency. This incident occurred during a crucial campaign period for the Bihar Assembly elections.

Broader Pattern of Obstruction Alleged

The Congress president didn't stop at criticizing the immediate delay but went further to accuse the BJP of systematically obstructing Congress campaigns. "BJP wallahs always keep coming in our way," Kharge asserted, suggesting this was part of a larger pattern of interference by the ruling party.

In a sharp personal criticism of the Prime Minister, Kharge added, "Modi spends most of his time abroad and is seen in the country only at the time of elections. He has no qualms about canvassing even in Panchayat and municipal elections." These remarks highlight the intensifying political rhetoric as election campaigning reaches its peak.

The timing of these allegations is particularly significant given that PM Modi addressed two rallies in the neighboring districts of Aurangabad and Kaimur on the same day, coinciding with Kharge's scheduled appearance in Rohtas. This scheduling overlap has added fuel to the political controversy.

These developments occur against the backdrop of intensifying political campaigns ahead of the second and final phase of voting for the Bihar Assembly elections. Both major political parties are pulling out all stops to reach voters and secure electoral advantages in the crucial state polls.
