Nashik's Pink Polling Booths Deliver Efficient and Celebratory Voting
Nashik witnessed a unique electoral initiative with the establishment of sixteen Pink Polling Booths across the city. Among these, the all-women-operated Pink Booth at Government Polytechnic College on Samangaon Road in Nashik Road stood out as a symbol of inclusive and efficient voting.
Voters Praise Smooth and Quick Process
Voters who cast their ballots at booths 33 and 34 reported a remarkably smooth experience. Many noted the process was glitch-free and completed in under a couple of minutes, despite the requirement to cast three to four votes.
"The women at the Pink Booth were extremely helpful," said Yamuna Bidve, a resident of Nashik Road. "They guided every voter clearly on how to cast the three votes. As a senior citizen, I appreciated not waiting long in the queue. The staff kindly allowed me to proceed quickly, and I was out of the polling centre in just five minutes. Their explanations were very clear."
Celebratory Atmosphere and Strong Security
Another voter, Sakshi Jadhav, shared her initial confusion upon finding her name listed at a Pink Booth. "At first, I thought it might be exclusively for women voters, but that wasn't the case," she explained. "Instead, the booth felt like a celebration of voting. Entering a specially decorated polling booth was a delightful experience. The all-women staff was pleasant, and the presence of adequate police personnel provided a strong sense of security."
Voters consistently described the Pink Booths as making them feel special. The initiative not only streamlined the voting process but also added a festive touch to the democratic exercise, encouraging participation through a welcoming and efficient environment.
