NDA Wave Sweeps Bihar as Phase One Sees Massive Voter Participation
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, speaking at a public rally in the tribal-dominated area of Harnatand within Valmikinagar, West Champaran district on Friday, declared that the substantial voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections is a clear indicator of a powerful NDA wave. He expressed unwavering confidence in the ruling alliance's prospects for victory.
Public Trust and Development Agenda
The Chief Minister asserted that the public's faith rests firmly with the NDA government. He credited the partnership between himself and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for liberating Bihar from what he described as "jungle raj" and putting an end to dynastic politics in the state. He praised the Prime Minister for his continuous efforts for Bihar's development, stating that PM Modi regularly engages with the public, listens to their concerns, and provides necessary assistance.
Addressing the gathering in support of JD(U) candidates Dhirendra Pratap Singh from Valmikinagar and Samridh Verma from Sikta, Kumar positioned the NDA as the sole entity working for the state's progress.
Empowering Women and Countering Opposition
Nitish Kumar dedicated a significant part of his speech to his government's focus on women's empowerment. He directly addressed rumors surrounding the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, a scheme launched just before the election announcement that provides Rs 10,000 to women to help them start their own businesses.
"Do not be misled. There is absolutely no requirement to return the money given under this scheme," the CM stated emphatically. He accused the opposition of spreading falsehoods to confuse women, but praised the wisdom of Bihar's women, suggesting their enthusiastic participation in the first phase of voting was a direct response to these lies and a sign of their support for the NDA.
He sharply criticized the opposition, alleging they are limited to making statements without any concrete action or achievements to their name.
Record on Jobs, Education, and Inclusive Development
The Chief Minister went on to list the NDA government's key accomplishments across various sectors. On the employment and education front, he revealed impressive numbers. "Approximately 2,58,000 teachers have been recruited so far, and preparations are complete to fill an additional 70,000 positions," Kumar announced. He promised that this new recruitment drive would commence immediately after the new government is formed post-elections.
He further claimed that around 10 lakh jobs and 10 lakh employment opportunities have already been generated. Looking ahead, he set an ambitious new target: "Now, our goal is to provide employment to one crore youth in the state."
Highlighting his government's commitment to inclusive development, Nitish Kumar stated, "We have worked for all sections of society." He pointed to the nationalization of madrasas and enhanced security at temples as evidence of this equitable approach, affirming that "for us, everyone is equal." He also mentioned the development of both old and new medical colleges as part of the administration's broader achievements in the health sector.
