Noida Holds 50 Special Voter Registration Camps in Labour Hubs & Offices
Noida's Special Voter Registration Camps Target Labour, Offices

In a major push to ensure comprehensive voter enrolment, the Noida administration is conducting a two-day special drive across Noida and Greater Noida. The initiative, part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, focuses on reaching out to labour communities and working professionals at their workplaces.

Massive Outreach Across Key Locations

District Magistrate Medha Rupam, who is overseeing the exercise, stated that the revision is being carried out in a "prompt, transparent and effective manner." The administration has activated a total of 1,868 booths spanning residential sectors, high-rises, industrial zones, institutions, and even the Film City.

The core of this targeted drive involves 50 special camps set up specifically in labour-dominated areas. These camps are operational on December 1 and 2 between 12 pm and 2 pm. An equal number of camps have been established inside industrial units and corporate offices to facilitate employees during their working hours.

On-the-Spot Corrections and All-Form Acceptance

Officials have streamlined the process to maximise convenience. Citizens can submit all relevant forms, including Form 6 for new enrolment and Form 8 for corrections, at any camp, regardless of their assigned polling booth. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and trained staff will be present to assist with quick digital searches of the voter lists.

"For households that have shifted within the district, BLOs will coordinate on the spot to ensure immediate corrections, with Form 8 filled then and there if required," an official explained. DM Medha Rupam assured that "all issues related to the voter list will be resolved at the camps."

Targeting Corporates, Institutes, and Media Hubs

The administration has left no stone unturned in its outreach. Dedicated camps are being held at the offices of major tech and manufacturing companies like Samsung, LG, Dixon, Vivo, Oppo, and Yamaha, among many others listed.

To enrol students and staff, 35 educational and medical institutions are hosting camps, including Amity University, Bennett University, Gautam Buddha University, and Sharda University. Recognising the odd working hours of media personnel, 16 special camps have been set up at the Film City and offices of prominent media houses such as The Indian Express, Aaj Tak, NDTV, and Zee.

Awareness is being amplified through multiple channels. The DM noted that Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), Apartment Owners' Associations (AOAs), political parties, and volunteers are actively assisting BLOs. Additionally, garbage collection vehicles with PA systems, drum-beaters, and field teams are spreading the word across neighbourhoods.

"All election-related facilities: enrollment, amendment and verification, will be available at these camps," Rupam emphasised, urging all eligible citizens to participate in the democratic exercise and ensure their names are correctly listed.
