Aadhaar Services Expand Across Lucknow Postal Region with Enhanced Accessibility
In a significant move to improve public access, Aadhaar-related services have been expanded across the Lucknow headquarters postal region. This initiative aims to make enrolment and updates more accessible for both urban and rural residents, addressing common challenges faced by the community.
Extended Service Hours for Working Individuals
Postmaster General Sunil Kumar Rai highlighted the efforts to cater to working individuals who struggle to visit Aadhaar centres during regular hours. To address this, seven head post offices and eight selected post offices in key areas—including Ayodhya, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, and Sitapur—are now operating Aadhaar Seva Kendras in two shifts, from 8 am to 6 pm.
For added convenience, services at Lucknow GPO and Lucknow RMS (Charbagh) are available from 8 am to 8 pm, providing extended hours to accommodate busy schedules.
Widespread Aadhaar Camps for Rural and Urban Access
To further enhance accessibility, Aadhaar camps are being organised across all divisions at various community locations such as village panchayats, block offices, and primary schools. A total of 45 such camps will run at multiple sites until March 31, allowing residents to easily access enrolment and update services without traveling far.
Fee Structure and Recent Achievements
Aadhaar enrolment remains free of charge, ensuring no financial barrier for new registrations. However, demographic, biometric, and document updates are available at prescribed fees, maintaining transparency in service costs.
From April 1 last year to January 31 this year, the region has successfully completed approximately 7,33,962 Aadhaar enrolments and updates, showcasing the high demand and effectiveness of these expanded services.
This expansion reflects a commitment to digital inclusion and public service improvement, making Aadhaar services more convenient and efficient for all residents in the Lucknow region.
