Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to Engage Academic Professors for Road Infrastructure Planning
In a strategic initiative to enhance the planning and execution of road infrastructure, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to collaborate with professors from academic institutions. These experts will develop comprehensive presentations focused on road development and maintenance across the city.
Proposal Details and Key Concerns
The proposal is scheduled for approval at a meeting chaired by the AMC administrator on March 27. It underscores the escalating traffic burden in Ahmedabad as a primary concern driving this initiative. By involving professors, the AMC aims to leverage technical expertise to address urban mobility challenges effectively.
Roles and Responsibilities of Professors
Professors at junior, middle, and senior levels will be recruited to prepare technical, diagrammatic, and visual presentations. Their work will concentrate on critical areas such as road construction, upkeep, and traffic management, ensuring a data-driven approach to infrastructure improvements.
Structured Remuneration Plan
The AMC has outlined a detailed remuneration structure for the participating experts:
- Directors and Specialists: Will receive Rs 7,000 per hour.
- Senior-Level Professors: Will be paid Rs 4,400 per hour.
- Middle-Level Professors: Will earn Rs 2,900 per hour.
- Junior-Level Professors: Will get Rs 2,000 per hour.
Additionally, Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be applied separately on top of these fees, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
