In a significant achievement for law enforcement and public service in Uttar Pradesh, the Ayodhya police zone has once again secured the top position in the state for efficiently handling public complaints through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS). This marks a continued demonstration of effective governance and responsive policing in the region.
A Zone-Wide Commitment to Excellence
Under the leadership of ADG/IG Praveen Kumar, the entire Ayodhya zone has established a notable atmosphere of security and good governance. The zone's success is not limited to Ayodhya district alone; all five constituent districts—Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, Amethi, Barabanki, and Sultanpur—have registered commendable performance in resolving public grievances. A government spokesperson highlighted that the team's consistent effort has been key to this accomplishment.
The Ayodhya police team has focused on two critical metrics: obtaining satisfactory feedback from the complainants themselves and keeping the number of default or pending cases to an absolute minimum. ADG Praveen Kumar attributed this success to the relentless hard work of the dedicated IGRS team and the unwavering commitment of police captains and station in-charges across all districts in the zone.
The Pillars of Success: Swift Action and Feedback
The first-place ranking was earned through a clear and effective strategy. The primary reasons for Ayodhya zone's top score include the swift resolution of complaints at the police station level, diligent follow-up on each case, and actively seeking and incorporating feedback from the citizens who filed the complaints. This end-to-end efficient handling has set a new benchmark.
This achievement is particularly impressive given the operational challenges. The entire zone, with Ayodhya at its heart, experiences a higher volume of complaints compared to many other regions. This surge is largely attributed to the massive influx of tourists and the frequent hosting of major religious events. Rather than being overwhelmed, the police team under ADG Kumar treated the increased workload as a challenge to be met head-on, turning a potential obstacle into a testament to their efficiency.
A Top Priority from the Leadership
ADG Praveen Kumar emphasized that the quality redressal of every public complaint is a top priority for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Reflecting this vision, the police's efforts are squarely focused on strengthening public trust in the force. "Our effort will be to ensure Ayodhya zone continues to top the rankings every month and public trust in police strengthens further," Kumar stated, outlining the ongoing mission.
The latest rankings also brought perfect scores for several other districts. Barabanki, Amethi, Ambedkarnagar, and Sultanpur all received 100% marks for their complaint handling performance this month, showcasing a zone-wide culture of accountability and service. The consistent performance of the Ayodhya zone serves as a replicable model for citizen-centric policing and effective grievance redressal across Uttar Pradesh.
