Patna: In a significant move to streamline grievance redressal, Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwary on Tuesday launched a new "single window system" designed to expedite the resolution of complaints from students and their guardians. Under this initiative, students and guardians can register their grievances by calling toll-free numbers 14417 and 8003454417. The education department has committed to addressing these complaints within a stipulated timeframe.
No Need to Visit Secretariat
Inaugurating the system, Minister Tiwary emphasized that neither students nor their guardians would need to visit the state secretariat for issue resolution. Instead, their problems can be solved simply through a phone call. He stated, "This system will ensure that grievances are addressed promptly without the hassle of physical visits."
Display of Toll-Free Numbers in Schools
The minister further informed that the Director of Primary Education has already directed all District Education Officers to prominently display the toll-free numbers of the department's command and control center on the front walls of all government primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools. All concerned officials have been instructed to complete the implementation of this new system by May 31, ensuring maximum benefit for the public.
Better Coordination and Faster Disposal
Tiwary noted that the initiative would foster better coordination among students, guardians, and the education department. It will facilitate the expeditious disposal of cases related to scholarships, admissions, certificates, and other academic issues. The minister expressed confidence that this system would significantly enhance transparency and efficiency in handling grievances.
This development marks a step forward in leveraging technology to improve administrative processes in Bihar's education sector. The toll-free numbers are expected to reduce the burden on physical offices and provide a convenient channel for addressing concerns.
