Bihar Minister Advocates for Evidence-Based Governance to Meet Sustainable Development Goals
Planning and Development Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav underscored the critical role of accurate, reliable, and timely data in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during a national capacity-building workshop held in Patna on Wednesday. The two-day workshop was organized jointly by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Bihar's planning and development department, with support from the United Nations Development Programme. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit reinforced the importance of quality data in policymaking, stating that it is vital to achieve the SDG principle of "Leave No One Behind." He announced Bihar's ambitious goal to emerge as a technology hub by November 2026, with a strategic focus on industrialization, artificial intelligence, and tourism development.
