Bihar Government to Install LED Screens for Real-Time Solar Light Monitoring

Naveen Kumar Singh, Director of the Panchayati Raj Department, has issued clear instructions to all district officials. They are required to ensure the installation of these LED televisions in prominent public locations within their collectorate campuses within the next 15 days. Centralised Monitoring System for Efficient Oversight
To support this transparency drive, the Panchayati Raj Department, in collaboration with the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA), has developed a Centralised Monitoring System (CMS). - Which lights are currently operational
- Which lights are faulty or non-functional
- Specific locations where repairs are urgently needed
The data from the CMS will be continuously displayed on the LED screens installed at district offices, enabling ongoing monitoring and increasing administrative accountability. This system is expected to streamline maintenance processes and reduce downtime for solar lights in rural communities.
Budget Allocation for the Initiative
To facilitate the implementation of this project, the state government has approved a budget of Rs 76 lakh. This funding will be allocated at a rate of Rs 2 lakh per district, exclusively for the procurement and installation of LED televisions across all district collectorates.
