Buxar DM Reviews Supply Dept, Directs Action on e-KYC

Buxar District Magistrate Reviews Supply Department Performance

District Magistrate Sahila presided over a crucial meeting of the district supply task force at the Collectorate on Monday, conducting an in-depth review of key operations within the supply department. The session focused on critical areas such as e-KYC completion rates, online ration card issuance, and the efficient lifting and distribution of foodgrains.

e-KYC Progress and Block-Level Directives

During the review, it was highlighted that Buxar has achieved an impressive 84.95% e-KYC completion rate among beneficiaries, positioning the district fourth in the state. However, the DM expressed concern over slower progress in specific blocks, including Nawanagar, Chaugai, Itarhi, Chakki, and Dumraon. In response, she issued a firm directive to block supply inspectors, particularly those in Nawanagar, Chaugai, and Kesath, to elevate e-KYC coverage above the district average within a strict one-week timeframe.

Ration Card Applications and Beneficiary Verification

The meeting also addressed pending ration card applications, with the DM noting that 4,295 Form-A and 1,394 Form-B applications are currently awaiting scrutiny. Officials were instructed to expedite the verification process and ensure all pending applications are disposed of within the stipulated deadlines. Additionally, a thorough verification of 13,708 suspected ineligible beneficiaries was ordered, with directions to cancel ration cards in accordance with established rules to maintain system integrity.

Foodgrain Distribution and PDS Inspections

To enhance the public distribution system, the district manager of the state food corporation was directed to guarantee the lifting of February foodgrains through doorstep delivery to all PDS dealers by February 19, with a target of 100% distribution among beneficiaries by February 25. Furthermore, officials were tasked with intensifying inspections of PDS shops using the PDS Parakh app as per roster, and to take stringent action against any irregularities detected in PDS, TPDS, and CMR warehouses.

Dealer Concerns and Financial Allocations

Representatives from the dealer association raised concerns regarding margin money payments, which have been disbursed only until June 2025. The district manager informed the meeting that allocations for July and August 2025 have been received and uploaded on the CFMS platform, with ongoing efforts to resolve the issue promptly to ensure smooth operations.

Public Hearing Under "Sabka Samman–Jeevan Aasan" Programme

Earlier in the day, the DM conducted a public hearing as part of the "Sabka Samman–Jeevan Aasan" initiative under Saat Nishchay-03 at the Collectorate. She assured citizens of swift and effective redressal for their grievances. During the session, 39 applications were submitted by individuals from various blocks, covering a range of issues. The DM personally heard each case and directed concerned officials to take appropriate action, committing to a transparent and fair disposal of all applications within the designated timeframes.
