Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday ordered strict action against a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and directed the registration of an FIR following allegations of threats made during a public grievance redressal event. The orders came during the 'Jan Samvad' program held in Ladwa, where the CM listened to complaints from local residents.
CM Hears Complaints at Ladwa Jan Samvad
During the interactive session, several residents raised issues ranging from water supply and sanitation to land disputes and administrative negligence. One complainant alleged that an SDO had threatened him after he raised a demand for proper infrastructure in his village. Taking immediate cognizance, CM Saini instructed the deputy commissioner to initiate a departmental inquiry against the erring officer and file an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Action Against Erring Officials
The Chief Minister emphasized that no official would be allowed to intimidate citizens or misuse authority. He stated that the state government is committed to transparent and accountable governance. The SDO has been transferred pending inquiry, and a police case has been registered based on the complainant's statement.
CM Saini also assured the gathering that all legitimate grievances would be addressed within a stipulated timeframe. He directed officers to conduct field visits and resolve issues at the grassroots level. The Jan Samvad initiative, launched by the state government, aims to bridge the gap between the administration and the public by providing a direct platform for grievance redressal.
Local leaders and residents appreciated the CM's swift action. The event saw a large turnout, with people from nearby villages also participating. The administration has been asked to submit a compliance report within a week.
